We started out as Cutting Edge Powder Coating. As our work grew into architectural, industrial and fabrication projects, we rebranded as H-Town Coaters, a tribute to the city we grew up in. Today we deliver specification-ready finishes for industrial, architectural, sheet metal, oil and gas, OEM and commercial projects.
Every job follows the same controlled sequence, so the fiftieth batch matches the first.

The questions architects, fabricators and procurement teams ask us most.
We specialize in architectural metal, industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, sheet metal and enclosures, medical equipment, commercial fixtures, glass and mirror framing, and OEM production. Most of our work comes from architects, fabricators, contractors, manufacturers and procurement teams across Greater Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast.
We coat carbon and structural steel, aluminum extrusions and panels, stainless steel, galvanized steel, iron, copper and specialty alloys, plus sheet metal assemblies. Each substrate gets its own preparation, such as conversion pretreatment for aluminum or blasting for steel, so the coating bonds properly and lasts.
Yes. H-Town Coaters provides media blasting and sandblasting along with degreasing, chemical cleaning, and rust and old-coating removal. Proper surface preparation is the foundation of every finish we apply, because it creates the profile and cleanliness the powder needs for strong, long-term adhesion.
Typical turnaround is 5 to 10 business days, depending on part size, the amount of prep required and order volume. We support short runs, scheduled repeat batches and larger projects with staggered delivery, and expedited options are available. Contact us with your timeline and we will confirm a schedule.
Powder coating is quoted per project, because cost depends on part size and weight, how much surface preparation or blasting is needed, quantity, color and finish, masking and turnaround. Repeat production batches lower the cost per part. Send drawings or photos for a free, exact quote from our Houston team.
Yes. We offer custom RAL color matching for brand and specification consistency, along with solid colors, metallics, matte, satin and high-gloss finishes, wrinkle and hammered textures, Super Chrome, and our Polychrotina™ patina collection that recreates the look of aged bronze, copper and steel.
Yes. Our facility is set up for repeat OEM batches with strict thickness and finish consistency. Each batch is inspected for mil thickness, adhesion, gloss and color before release, so parts coated months apart still match and fit your production schedule.
Architectural projects are often specified to American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) standards. We work to AAMA 2603 for interior or mild exterior exposure and AAMA 2604 for moderate exterior exposure, and we review your specification before coating so the finish system matches the project requirements.
Properly prepared and cured powder coating forms a sealed, cross-linked barrier that blocks humid air, salt spray and UV degradation. With Houston humidity often above 90%, intense heat and coastal salt air, the right pretreatment and powder selection are what keep metal from corroding and finishes from fading.
Yes. H-Town Coaters began as Cutting Edge Powder Coating in northwest Houston. As the business grew into architectural, industrial and fabrication work, it rebranded as H-Town Coaters to honor its Houston roots. Same team, same facility, same commitment to quality finishes.
No. Powder coating requires shop-controlled electrostatic spray booths and curing ovens that reach about 400°F, so parts must be brought to our shop. We coordinate pickup and delivery timing with your fabricator or installer to keep the project on schedule.
